FTDI are pleased to announce the availability of the Vinculum-II software development tools, designed to support the development of next generation USB applications using the FTDI Vinculum-II (VNC2), programmable USB 2.0 Host / Slave controller IC.

Using the Vinculum-II tools, designers can harness the processing and interface capabilities of the VNC2 device, which features Dual USB2.0 Host / Slave interface, on-chip 16-bit CPU core, with 256 KByte Flash, 16KByte RAM memory and includes support for a range of flexible interfaces including SPI (slave and master), UART, FIFO, GPIO and PWM interfaces. The VNC2 can be used for a wide range of USB 2.0 applications from portable storage and imaging devices to interface devices for instrumentation and control systems.
VNC1L Backwards Compatible
The VNC2 is available in a range packages options including a 48-pin LQFP VNC1L backwards compatible package, offering an easy migration path for existing Vinculum applications.
