SUNNYVALE, CA--April 27, 2010--Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX7060, a frequency- and power-agile ASK/FSK transmitter that enables the use of a single design for multiple applications. This device integrates a fractional-N synthesizer that allows programming over a wide 280MHz to 450MHz frequency range with a single crystal reference. Additionally, the RF output power is SPI(TM) programmable between +14dBm and -14dBm in 1dBm steps, thus enabling users to maximize transmit power while complying with multiple regulatory requirements. To maintain a good output-power match across a broad range of frequencies, the MAX7060 also contains a programmable matching capacitor that is connected in parallel with the PA output. This combination of integration and flexibility makes the transmitter well suited for power-sensitive applications such as home security systems, remote controls, and garage door openers.
The MAX7060 operates from either a single 2.1V to 3.6V power supply, or internal regulators can be used for supply voltages between 4.5V and 5.5V; it draws 5nA (typ) in shutdown mode. It is fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +125 degrees Celsius temperature range and is available in a 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $2.60 (1000-up, FOB USA).
